Job description for MANAGEMENT TRAINEE | For ORIJEN The World's Best Petfood at K-9 Artefacts Pte Ltd
Our management trainees are groom for management positions in Sales, Marketing, Administration, Logistic, After-Sales and Strategic Business Development. This program aims to develop them to be the future leaders in our businesses. They will take on significant responsibilities and their performance will contribute to our future success.
Successful candidates will undergo 6 months of induction training. During this period, their attitude, values, office skills and work abilities will be assess and corrected.
After this 6-month induction training, the trainees will be sent to a particular business area and work under the supervision of a senior manager or executive. After gaining valuable knowledge in that business area, the trainees are moved to a different area of the business and they will work under another senior manager or executive.
The processes mentioned above continue for sometimes and the trainees are rotated in various departments and they learn all about the section where they work, they are also continuously evaluated by a team of managers.
The trainee also will attend regional meetings and pet fairs with our sales or marketing directors. They are also provided periodic classroom training and continuous feedback from the management.
At the end of the 18 months management associate program, the trainees are finally evaluated, interviewed and their preference of work area where they like to work is considered. Only trainees who display exceptional qualities & work attitude will become our Associate Managers and posted permanently to a department of the company and they gradually assume more responsibilities.
Requirements
No experience is required as extensive trainings are provided. Degree in Business, Commerce, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or related field. Applicants must be well-groomed, hardworking and able to work on weekends. He/She should also have strong written, verbal, analytical and presentation skills. As importantly, the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of staffs throughout the company and also Mandarin-speaking customers (in order to provide periodic classroom training and continuous feedback to Mandarin speaking associates). Position requires proficiency in Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
Our management trainees come in from 9am to 6pm, Monday thru Saturday.

Explanary Notes:
Induction training is the training that an employee receives when he/she first joins a business or organisation. Induction training is important as it enables a new recruit to become productive as quickly as possible. It can avoid costly mistakes by recruits not knowing the procedures or techniques of their new jobs. Induction training consists of 3 parts, 2 months each.
Pre-Induction: This occurs when a new employee start work. (rules & regulations)
Induction: This is the actual transition into the work place. (pace, productivity, practices)
Post-Induction: This period is about adjustment to the new role.
Our sales team comprises of 3 defined channels namely independant, chain and e-commerce. The team takes care of all the brands that are entrusted to us by our overseas partners. The sales team is the bridge to link the Merchants to the business and are vital in our communication regarding short and long term sales strategies, brand placements, product information, sales techniques and consumer educations. Most importantly, the team will ensure that all our Merchants receive the highest level of service required for continued growth of each brand.
Our marketing team take care of all visual merchandising requirements both in-store and online. Beside visual merchandizing, they are also in-charge of digital marketing which is expanding rapidly within the company. Together with our sales team and our events team, they will organize educational roadshows regularly to reach out to more pet parents. Event coordinator, a newly added position within the marketing team is responsible to lead the team to organize outstanding and unforgettable events. Event coordinator is assisted by event specialists and brand specialists.
Administration and logistic team are one of the more important department in the company. Described as the internal component of a machine, a healthy administrative team is necessary to ensure operation smoothness and administration soundness. Working together in perfect harmony, to give our customers the best daily operational support possible.
After-Sales team is one of our newly developed division. Grown from the need to give the best service in the industry, the company has decided to put in resources and to build up a team for customer service, technical support, sales and marketing support and visual merchandisers.
A SELECTED FEW will be further groomed for strategic business development. Strategic business development managers protects organization's value by keeping information confidential and enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Therefore it is as important for these managers to update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Our business development managers help the company builds market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships. Their ability to identify trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments. They also locate, screen or propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities, analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments. They will develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals. Ability to close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
During the course of this Management Associate Program, some trainees may give up and drop out from the program. Some may be offered a specialist position within our organization or be offered a position with our Partners.
Only the best all-rounder will graduate from this program and offered a management position.
