Job description for IT Systems Intern at UTOP Paints (Singapore)PTE.LTD
UTOP Paints (Singapore) Pte Ltd is a leading paint and coatings company based in Jurong East, Singapore, dedicated to delivering high-quality products and exceptional service to clients across the region. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an IT Support and IT Systems Intern. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while contributing to the success of a growing organization. We are looking for someone who is passionate about technology and eager to develop their skills in a supportive and collaborative workplace.
The IT Support and IT Systems Intern will be responsible for providing technical assistance to employees, maintaining and troubleshooting computer systems, and supporting the overall IT infrastructure. Key responsibilities include responding to help desk requests, managing and updating ticketing systems, assisting with hardware and software installations, performing network diagnostics, and ensuring that all IT systems operate efficiently. The intern will also support remote users, collaborate with team members on IT projects, and contribute to the continuous improvement of IT processes and services.
About the Role
This is a hands-on internship combining business-system support, lightweight development, and AI-enabled automation.
You will initially help keep our CRM and corporate website running smoothly. As you learn the business, you will also contribute to small features, testing, documentation, and ongoing support for headquarters’ planning and production-management systems.
Over time, you may help prototype marketing agents, internal knowledge assistants, and other AI-driven workflows.
We do not expect an intern to know every technology from day one. We care more about your ability to learn quickly, troubleshoot methodically, and use AI to produce working, tested, and maintainable results.
Production changes will be reviewed by a supervisor or relevant system owner. The intern will not be expected to provide 24/7 support or independently own production systems.
What You Will Do
Support day-to-day CRM operations, including user access, workflow configuration, data-quality checks, issue investigation, and documentation
Help maintain the company website through content and functional updates, basic availability checks, and issue follow-up
Assist with requirements, small-feature development, testing, release support, and maintenance for planning and production-management systems under supervision
Build simple scripts, API integrations, or automated workflows that reduce repetitive work
Use AI coding assistants and agent-based workflows for analysis, development, testing, and documentation
Review AI-generated output for accuracy, security, and maintainability
Contribute to prototypes for marketing agents, internal knowledge assistants, and other AI automation initiatives
Document problems, solutions, and operating procedures to improve the team’s system knowledge
What We Are Looking For
Professional working proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese is required because the role regularly works with headquarters stakeholders whose primary working language is Chinese, as well as Chinese-language requirements and system documentation
Working proficiency in English for collaboration in the Singapore office
Practical experience using AI coding tools or agents; personal, academic, or internship projects are all welcome
The ability to explain how you review and validate AI-generated work rather than accepting it without testing
Foundational programming or web-development skills in one or more areas such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, or CSS
Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, Git, APIs, JSON/webhooks, SQL, debugging, and basic software testing
A structured approach to troubleshooting and the judgment to escalate risks or uncertainties when appropriate
Reliability, attention to detail, proactive communication, and respect for data confidentiality, credentials, API keys, and access controls
Ability to undertake the agreed internship arrangement in Singapore under applicable requirements; eligibility will be verified before appointment
This position is available for a hybrid work arrangement, offering flexibility to balance work and personal commitments. Candidates should hold a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Strong communication skills and a customer service mindset are essential, as well as proficiency in using ticketing systems, providing help desk support, and troubleshooting technical issues. Experience with network troubleshooting, hardware maintenance, and remote support is highly desirable. We welcome candidates who are team players, eager to learn, and committed to delivering quality IT solutions.
