Job description for Full Stack Software Developer Intern at FoodLine

At FoodLine.sg, customers can find the best deals from over 500 food caterers and cake shops in Singapore. Founded in 2009, FoodLine has helped 313,800 customers, and served over 7,024,500 meals.
Our Internship Programme will broaden your insights on the many aspects of the online business industry. You will get to learn more about the catering and cakes industry, experience the ‘behind the scenes’ tasks of managing an online company, develop various skill sets, and drive meaningful change in our business.
What You Will Learn
Throughout the programme, you will be immersed in a hands-on learning environment that exposes you to FoodLine’s operations (e.g. Business Development, Marketing) and get to work cohesively with our casual and fun-loving team. Expect many opportunities for learning, while also building on your personal development with us like many of our past interns have.
The student will play the role of a Software Developer to build the brand for FoodLine.sg. The student can expect to work closely with the Software Developer team in the following areas.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement web UI and backend services using PHP/MySQL/JQuery/HTML/CSS
- Write high-quality and maintainable code using best practices
- Gather and Analyse requirements, Design/Develop & Test features
- Understand the product, constantly optimise the product, identify and fix problems to improve performance and user experience
- Build reusable libraries and codes
- Support internal and external users on any IT-related issues
Requirements:
- Familiar with basic web technologies, e.g. HTML, CSS, PHP, SQL, JavaScript
- Proficiency in any procedural/object oriented programming languages
- Familiar with PHP or willing to learn on the job
- Friendly and firm personality, self-driven, team player, and able to thrive under minimal supervision
- Enjoy working in a fun, casual and energetic environment
- University students in Computing or related field
- Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 9.15am - 6.15pm (Inclusive 1 hour break)
- Allowance: $1,500/month
- Duration: able to commit min. 5 months internship
- Work in a casual and friendly environment. Our office is based in Paya Lebar Square and work from home in the long term.
