Job description for Float Guide at Palm Ave Float Club
Who we are
At Palm Ave Float Club, we have a vision: to get the world meditating. We believe that everyone can create a happy, healthy life for themselves, and it starts with looking inwards and getting to know yourself deeply. That’s why we create thoughtful experiences that make you feel calm, grounded, and inspired.
Our journey began back in 2013, with our founders seeking to advance their personal growth and become more self-aware. It led them to try floatation. What they found was that by experiencing weightlessness, they were also able to unlock a lighter state of mind. As they dove deeper, they discovered the potential to reduce anxiety and pain, to unlock personal insights, and to expand their emotional and mental horizons.
What does it mean to be a float guide?
Our key service is floatation therapy, which is a unique form of wellness. It’s our trusty float guides who help our guests have the best experience possible.
People float for all kinds of reasons – to destress, out of curiosity, or for recovery, etc. A great float guide is able to welcome all of them equally, and tune the experience appropriately for each person.
As guardians of the overall experience, our float guides also keep the technical side of operations running smoothly. This means keeping the space clean and presentable, running our reception services efficiently, and maintaining the water quality in our float pods.
In summary, we are looking for someone who embodies these qualities:
- Welcoming, friendly, and approachable
- Empathetic to guests’ needs, even the unspoken ones
- Attentive to detail, able to uphold high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Has experience in customer service (minimum 1 year)
- Clear communication and problem solving skills
These would be a plus:
- Knowledgeable and/or passionate about floating and all things related
- Has an active personal practice when it comes to wellness
Other details
- Salary starts at $12-$15/hr, with a weekly minimum commitment of 3 shifts.
- Able to commit 1-2 days per weekend (Fri to Sun)
- Job perks include free floats, weekend meal allowance
Does this sound like you? We'd love to hear from you.
