About the Company
China-Base Resource Singapore Pte. Ltd. (“CBRS”) is a wholly owned subsidiary of China-Base Ningbo Group Co., Ltd. (“CBNB”) and serves as the Group’s international trading platform in Singapore. CBRS conducts cross-border B2B trading in energy products, industrial raw materials, rubber, agricultural products and non-ferrous metals. Supported by CBNB’s global research, market intelligence and supply chain network, CBRS connects international suppliers, customers, logistics providers and trading partners.
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Energy Market Research Intern to support our Singapore team in analyzing fuel oil market fundamentals, tracking supply/demand dynamics, and delivering actionable insights for trading decisions.
Key Responsibilities
• Market Monitoring: Track vessel movements, cargo flows, trade patterns, and supply-demand balances in the fuel oil sector.
• Data & Analysis: Collect, organize, and analyze market data using quantitative tools
• Research & Reporting: Conduct independent research and prepare market updates, charts, and ad-hoc thematic research.
• Commercial Support: Translate data trends into commercially relevant insights to support trading strategies and business planning.
Requirements
• Education: Currently pursuing a Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related fields.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge in VBA, Python, SQL would be advantageous but not required
• Eligibility: Open to Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents, or international students currently enrolled in approved local institutions with a valid Student Pass. (Please note that we are currently unable to sponsor employment visas for this internship role.)
• Languages: Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese (to liaise with regional stakeholders).
• Availability: Able to commit to at least 4 working days per week for 6 months.
• Prior experience on a commodities trading desk, analytics, individual projects would be advantageous.
