Job description for Editorial Assistant at The Smart Local
What you will do:
- Ideate and pitch high-quality long-form and short-form articles to editors
- Write articles that aligns with the company's brand and tone, including perspectives, listicles, reviews, and news posts
- Gather information, fact check, and write digestible articles in a compelling and balanced manner
- Assist with photo sourcing and market research to enhance articles
- May attend events, tastings, and other out-of-office work to support the creation of articles
The successful candidate should have:
- Possess or currently studying for a Diploma/Degree in Media/Communications Studies or equivalent
- Strong command of English and able to articulate points concisely and coherently when writing
- Versatile and able to write well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Pleasant and professional disposition, to represent the company professionally at all times
- Meticulous and good eye for content/trending topics
- Able to commit for a minimum of 24-weeks (6 months) internship
