Join Our Team as a Chief Engineer – Manufacturing Industry

We are looking for an experienced Chief Engineer to lead engineering operations and ensure optimal production performance through reliable systems, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is strategic and hands-on, overseeing engineering teams and aligning engineering performance with operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage and lead engineers, technicians, and mechanics to ensure safe operations and optimal production performance.

2. Diagnose and resolve electrical, electronic, automation, and system failures to maintain uninterrupted production.

3. Ensure engineering activities comply with safety policies, regulations, and industry standards while minimizing operational risks.

4. Continuously monitor production systems to ensure maximum operational efficiency and timely problem resolution.

5. Provide technical training and mentoring to engineering teams on automated systems and controls, in collaboration with IT & digital systems teams.

6. Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for automation, electrical, and mechanical systems.

7. Collaborate with the GM of Operations to align engineering strategies with operational goals, KPIs, and process improvements.

8. Lead engineering projects to boost production efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance automation capabilities.

9. Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components to prevent production delays.

10. Prepare and present engineering performance reports to management, focusing on KPIs, efficiency, and improvement initiatives.

11. Identify and evaluate new automation technologies to improve manufacturing efficiency and productivity.

12. Coordinate R&D initiatives to innovate and enhance production processes and technologies.

13. Organize regular team meetings, conduct risk assessments, develop backup plans, and mentor team members to foster innovation and proactive problem-solving.

14. Develop and document SOPs to standardize engineering processes and ensure consistent, compliant, and high-quality operations.

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Automation Engineering.

Experience:

Minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.

Technical Skills:

Strong expertise in automation systems, control panels, and PLC programming

Solid understanding of production systems, electricity, and electronics

Experience with maintenance software, CAD, and production machinery

Strong experience in industrial automation, including PLC, HMI, and control systems, with the ability to analyze and resolve automation-related production issues.

Soft Skills:

Strong leadership and team management capability

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration

Language:

English proficiency is an advantage

Additional Requirements:

Experience in the biomass or briquette industry is preferred

Electrical safety certification is a plus

Willing to be based in Karanganyar

Willing to travel between plants and for coordination or conferences


Salary: Negotiable based on qualifications, experience, and placement location (Karanganyar).
