We are looking for a CFD Engineering Consultant who wants to do more than operate simulation software.
At BroadTech, you will have the opportunity to work on different engineering problems, develop your CFD analysis skills, interact with clients and gradually take ownership of complete engineering projects.What you will do
Depending on your experience, you may be involved in the full CFD engineering cycle:
* Understand the client's engineering problem and define the objective of the CFD analysis.
* Decide what physics, assumptions and modelling approach are appropriate for the problem.
* Prepare geometry and computational domains.
* Develop meshes and assess mesh quality and sensitivity.
* Set up and run CFD simulations for fluid flow, heat transfer and related physics.
* Perform steady-state and transient CFD analysis where appropriate.
* Investigate turbulence, pressure drop, flow distribution, temperature, heat transfer and other engineering parameters.
* Perform sensitivity studies and engineering checks to understand the reliability and limitations of the model.
* Compare simulation results with experimental or operational data where available.
* Analyse and interpret CFD results rather than simply producing plots and contours.
* Convert simulation findings into practical engineering recommendations.
* Prepare clear technical reports, presentations and engineering documentation.
* Discuss technical findings and recommendations with clients and project stakeholders.
* Work with engineers across CFD, FEA and other engineering disciplines.
Our focus is not simply getting a CFD model to converge.
We want to understand whether the model is appropriate for the engineering question, whether the results make physical sense and what the results actually mean for the client's design or operation.

Although this position is primarily focused on CFD, BroadTech also undertakes Finite Element Analysis and multidisciplinary engineering simulation.
Depending on your interests and project experience, you may gain exposure to areas such as structural analysis, stress analysis, vibration, thermal-structural problems and fluid-structure interaction.

This multidisciplinary exposure is useful because real engineering problems do not always fit neatly into one simulation discipline.What we look forEssential
* Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
* Strong fundamentals in fluid mechanics and heat transfer.
* Practical CFD experience through industry, research or significant academic projects.
* Understanding of CFD modelling, meshing, solver setup and post-processing.
* Ability to investigate an engineering problem rather than simply follow a predefined simulation procedure.
* Good written and verbal communication.
* Reliable, organised and willing to take ownership of work.
* Curiosity and willingness to learn.
Useful experience
Experience in one or more of the following is useful:
* STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM or similar CFD software.
* Thermal CFD and heat transfer.
* Airflow or ventilation simulation.
* Electronics cooling or thermal management.
* Data centre CFD.
* Aerodynamics or hydrodynamics.
* Rotating machinery CFD.
* Multiphase flow.
* Fluid-structure interaction.
* FEA or finite element simulation.
* Structural or vibration analysis.
* Python, MATLAB or engineering automation.
* Experimental validation or correlation.
* Technical reporting and client presentations.
We are interested in capability and potential, not only the number of years on your CV.
A strong engineer with good fundamentals, curiosity and the ability to learn quickly may be a better fit than someone with more years of experience but little engineering judgement.How we work

That may include leading parts of a CFD analysis, communicating directly with clients, reviewing another engineer's work or eventually managing complete projects.
