Background
Electric8 (also known as E8) is a hands-on group of product and growth specialists with offices in Singapore and Jakarta. We help companies in SE Asia find product-market fit by building the right digital experiences and scaling them systematically on the right channels. In what will be a new role at E8, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for starting conversations with the people and companies who will become our customers. He or she will have to take those discussions all the way through to the point of closing deals in order to hit our revenue and client staff utilisation targets. You will work closely with Directors, Leads and other client staff members at Electric8 to target, attract and convert prospective clients by driving the sales funnel and process, understanding customer needs through calls and meetings, and scoping realistic proposals that hit the mark - all in line with our values. This role is open to applicants based in Singapore. Singaporeans and PRs preferred.
What You Will Learn

Goals You Will Own
- Prospecting to hit leads, proposals, revenue and client utilisation targets
- Building and optimising a healthy sales funnel and pipeline that drives inbound and outbound leads for the types of projects that we seek
- Building and maintaining all kinds of sales collaterals (decks, case studies, website etc.) to allow us to attract and convert customers throughout the funnel
How You’ll Achieve Those Goals
- Running high quality (not necessarily high volume) prospecting with qualified leads across multiple sales channels (inbound, outbound, tenders, partnerships etc.)
- Conducting calls and meetings with C-level, product, marketing and analytics executives at large companies all the way through to startups
- Working closely and collaboratively with E8 directors, leads and other client staff members to design collaterals to support calls and meetings (slides, case studies, spreadsheets etc.)
- Scoping and pricing realistically feasible proposals for clients based on a clear understanding of their needs, wants and budget
- Maintaining the sales pipeline at every stage from lead generation/qualification all the way through to close and post-close long term nurturing for repeat business
- Participating in management meetings with leads and directors to ensure we’re always focusing our prospecting efforts in highest impact areas
Experience, Skills & Attitude Desired
Past Experience & Hard Skills
- 2 to 3+ years of experience in a sales function, ideally at a company selling technology product or services to C-level suite, product, marketing or analytics executives
- Experience working in both inbound and outbound sales teams
- Exposure to and passion for some or all of the following: product management/building digital products, user research, using analytics to better understand customers, and iterative processes (lean methodology, experimentation, testing etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal English skills.
- Excellent command of G Suite and office suite tools (slides, spreadsheets, docs etc.)
- Familiarity with Pipedrive and/or other sales CRM tools
Soft Skills
- Ability to network and communicate effectively with outside stakeholders and peers
- Ability to deal and address objections with empathy
- Project, team, and stakeholder management skills: You know how to prioritize and manage multiple streams of work and requests, while keeping all stakeholders informed
Attitude
- You’re comfortable switching between multiple prospects, proposals and internal projects
- You value and invite candid, constructive feedback on your work, and want to provide the same to others to improve the outcomes for the team
- You value outcomes over outputs, but you understand that process is sometimes needed to keep a team moving forward together
- You have a sense of humor and an ability to deal with ambiguity and change
Compensation & Benefits
The compensation package is structured around a base salary, bonus correlated with monthly sales and utilisation targets, and stock options in E8.
