Job description for Backend Developer Senior at GenKin
POSITION TITLE: SENIOR BACKEND DEVELOPER
FUNCTIONAL BUSINESS OBJECTIVES (FBOs):
Genkin is looking for a potential Senior Backend Developer to spearhead the design, development, and optimization of robust backend solutions that power our cutting-edge applications. Your deep technical expertise, coupled with leadership capabilities, will influence architecture decisions, enhance performance, and drive innovation in our software projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and high-performance backend services, APIs and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate project requirements into technical solutions.
- Develop technical strategies to optimize system reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Write clean, high-quality, maintainable code with best development practices.
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute insights to system design decisions.
- Guide and mentor junior developers, providing technical expertise and fostering growth.
- Oversee the testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of backend components.
- Lead code reviews, offering constructive feedback and ensuring code quality.
- Participate in the evaluation and adoption of new tools and technologies.
- Research and experiment with innovative solutions to technical challenges.
- Champion security and data protection measures within backend systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or another related subject.
- At least 3 years of backend software development experience.
- Experience designing or implementing public-facing REST APIs.
- Strong experience in programming languages: Golang/Nodejs/Python.
- Experience in python/Django and MySQL/Postgres is a plus.
- Proficiency in designing, querying, and optimizing databases, both relational and non-relational (Postgres, MongoDB,...).
- Familiar in microservices, event-driven architecture.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity.
- Experience in working with systems or CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Docker.
- Well-versed in working within the agile environment.
Nice to have:
- Knowledge about logistics is a plus.
- Strong knowledge in DevOps and Cloud technology (AWS, Google Cloud,...)..
- Experience in mentoring team members and coordinating development tasks.
- Additional frontend (ex. React.js) experience will be greatly valued as well.
