Job description for AWS Cloud Engineer at SotaTek
We are looking for an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to join our team, responsible for building, operating, and optimizing the company-wide infrastructure platform and CI/CD pipelines. You will work closely with development teams to drive automation, accelerate release cycles, and ensure the reliability and security of our production systems through these key responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available and efficient CI/CD pipelines.
- Manage and operate production cloud infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to ensure consistency and reproducibility.
- Support containerization and orchestration for applications.
- Build and operate monitoring, logging, and tracing systems to enable early detection and efficient troubleshooting.
- Work closely with development teams to provide DevOps best practices and continuously improve engineering workflows.
- Participate in on-call rotations to handle production incidents.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must have:
- At least 2 years of experience as a AWS Cloud Engineer/ DevOps Engineer (or similar).
- Hands-on experience with Japanese projects, strong understanding of JP processes, and high attention to detail.
Techinal skills
- Hands-on experience with AWS services:
EC2, ECS, EKS
VPC, Subnets, Route Tables
Security Groups, NACLs
Application Load Balancer, Network Load Balancer, CloudFront, WAF
- Identity & security: IAM users, roles, and policies
- Monitoring & operations: CloudWatch (metrics, logs, alarms)
- Backup: AWS Backup, snapshots
- CICD: CodePipeline or CI/CD experience with Gitlab CI, Github Actions, ArgoCD,...
- OS & platform:
Linux administration
Basic scripting (PowerShell / Bash)
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform / Ansible
Nice to Have:
- Ability to read and write technical design documents, prepare configuration sheets and runbooks
- Troubleshooting skills in production and migration scenarios.
- Good understanding of system operations and handover processes.
- Experience working across infrastructure lifecycle: Requirements clarification, Basic & Detailed Design, Build, unit test, integration test
- AWS certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
