Job description for Applications Developer at GWIA Pte Ltd
You will be part of an internal IT operations team with the responsibilities to deploy, manage and support applications and infrastructure that hosts them.
Overall Objectives:
- Design and code functional programs and applications development process
- Support the maintenance of existing applications
Responsibilities:
- Understand user requirements and translate them to new application features
- Collaborating with development team and other IT staff to set specifications for new applications
- Write high-quality code to program complete applications on schedule
- Design creative prototypes according to specifications
- Perform unit and integration testing before launch
- Conduct functional and non-functional testing
- Troubleshoot and debug applications
- Evaluate existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features
- Develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code
- Carry out regular security and performance checks
Competencies:
- Ability to work in at least one programming language. e.g. C#, Java (J2EE), Python.
- Familiar with a variety of operating systems and platforms.
- Experience with cloud deployments especially Microsoft Azure will be preferred
- Proficiency with project tracking software, such as Jira
- Excellent understanding of software design and programming principles.
- Experience with POC Application Development (Frontend or Backend)
- Networking, Secure Coding knowhow
- Willingness to learn Low Code Platforms (Power Platform, KNIME)
Academic Qualifications:
- BSc/BA in Computer Science or relevant field from a local university
- Local Polytechnic graduates with relevant working experience may be considered
- Certified application developer will be an advantage
