Job description for Application Engineer - Video and Audio Systems at Eastwerks Pte Ltd
We are seeking a technically skilled and service-driven Application Engineer to support our professional AV and video surveillance solutions. This role covers pre-sales design, post-sales support, and ongoing maintenance. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in AV integration and video surveillance, with the ability to manage field servicing and long-term system reliability. Relevant training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical support by phone, email, or on-site to resellers, system integrators, and end-users for AV and CCTV systems.
• Specify and recommend product solutions tailored to customer project needs.
• Perform in-house and field testing to replicate, analyze, and resolve technical issues.
• Develop and deliver system designs, solution proposals, BOMs, and AV signal flow schematics.
• Generate feedback to support product improvements and new features.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and partners.
• Conduct end-user and partner training.
• Support product demonstrations, events, and technical workshops.
• Carry out scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance, including firmware updates, hardware inspections, and system performance tuning.
• Diagnose and resolve faults proactively and reactively to ensure system uptime and compliance with service-level agreements.
• Maintain documentation for service reports, asset records, and maintenance schedules.
Video Systems
• Assist with setup, commissioning, and troubleshooting of IP video systems.
• Configure and maintain VMS platforms (e.g., Bosch BVMS) and IP cameras.
• Guide clients on camera placement, lens selection, and network configuration.
• Monitor and maintain system health, storage usage, and video retention compliance.
Audio Systems
• Design and support AV signal routing, DSPs, and control integration.
• Troubleshoot signal issues and ensure audio clarity and system stability.
• Maintain and update control code or presets when changes are required.
• Perform preventive maintenance for DSPs, switchers, and other audio hardware.
Desired Skills and Experience
• Diploma or degree in Engineering, Electronics, or IT.
• Technical experience in AV or video surveillance systems
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Solid troubleshooting, documentation, and teamwork capabilities.
• Ability to read system drawings & use tools like AutoCAD, Visio, or BIM software.
• Familiarity with networking (VLANs, PoE, multicast), and structured cabling.
• Willingness to travel for support and maintenance when required.
• Relevant product and system training will be provided to ensure full capability.
