How did you end up as a content strategist at SGAG?
I’ve always been passionate about the creative industry and even pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and Digital Imaging. After graduating, I looked out for roles in the art, design and media industries. I had the chance to attend one of SGAG’s parties and knew that I HAD to work there. I sent in an email and the rest is history!
What is it about your job at SGAG that you love so much?
I love the people the most. They’re not just colleagues, but friends. This close-knit community creates a harmonious working environment and makes the job a whole lot more fun! I love how we’re all given a chance to freely explore our creativity, make mistakes and learn from them as well.
What is a typical day at work like at SGAG?
We begin the day by watching a funny video together! Hahaha! Then we have our morning meeting before breaking up to do our different assignments for the day. Some will go out on shoots, have client meetings, others edit, ideate, and make memes! During lunch we play foosball, table tennis or PS4 before going back to our work!
What are some words you would use to describe the community/environment of SGAG?
One word to summarise our environment is CRAZY!! Everyone is quirky in their own way and it is not rare to see people wearing wigs, dinosaur suits and other crazy outfits walking up and down the office. However, it is not just fun and play all the time at SGAG. Creating content for our audience everyday takes a lot of hard work but it definitely pays off with a whole lot of fun as well!
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
I see myself continuing to learn and grow with SGAG. I hope that Singaporeans would remain receptive and open to us and our content so that we can continue to live out our dream to make every Singaporean’s day a better one.
Any words of advice to those who are looking to pursue a career in your field?
Pursuing your passion is never the easiest choice, especially for those in the creative industry. I urge you to believe in your craft and never lose hope! The rewards of doing something you love everyday is priceless. It is also important to never get too comfortable, keep on learning and expanding your skills!
