Role Description

We are seeking candidates with proven experience managing a team of 50 drivers in transport operations, who are motivated to advance their careers in a dynamic environment.

The Manager will be responsible for the Profit & Loss and the person in-charge of all the operations and customer services activities in the department.

1.      Responsible for the smooth functioning, management and operations of the assigned Business Unit / Department covering administration, invoicing, debtor aging and prompt service recovery, facilities and operations management, and procurement, in line with Group’s policy.

2.      Accountable and responsible to manage the Profit & Loss of the assigned Business Unit / Department.

3.      Manage and ensure effective and efficient resource deployment (manpower, equipment, etc.) for day-to-day operations.

4.      Responsible to meet the customers’ key performance indicator, scope of work, and other requirements.

5.      Responsible to plan and implement operational set-up eg. new business or expansion.

6.      Responsible to maintain good business relationship with the current existing customers through regular engagement.

7.      Responsible to retain and expand the business volume with current existing customers.

8.      Responsible to formulate long and short-term strategies and capture new business leads for the growth of the Business Unit / Department.

9.      Responsible to attend to customer or external party inquiries and feedback promptly.

10.    Responsible to constantly review the Business Unit / Department's pricing policy to ensure competitiveness and recommend changes as required.

11.    Responsible to understand the market situation and feedback pertaining to the Business Unit / Department.

12.    Assist on any local or regional business RFQ / opportunities as assigned by the Senior Management.

13.    Ensure that all the licensee or business permit (required for the operations of the Business Unit / Department) are being applied and renewed accordingly based on the government regulations.

14.    Responsible to manage the business risk and compliance for the Business Unit / Department.

15.    Prepare the Management Report of the Business Unit / Department based on the requirement of Senior Management.

16.    Responsible on the training of the employee under the Business Unit / Department and provide motivation as when necessary.

Others:

Requirements

1.     Minimum a degree from a recognised university.

2.     Minimum 8 years of experience in operations capacity in the transportation business with at least 5 years of managerial experience.

3.     Strong analytical and negotiation skills.

4.     Organised and able to manage and prioritise multiple competing projects and tasks.

5.     Team player who is able to work independently and autonomously within established procedures, guidelines and plans.
