About the role
The Test & Commissioning (T&C) Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all system verification, testing, and commissioning activities required to demonstrate that deployed AMR systems meet project specifications, contract requirements, safety standards, and operational performance criteria. This role ensures that the integrated AMR solution—including robots, fleet management software, infrastructure interfaces, PLC systems, and facility equipment—operates safely, reliably, and in accordance with project requirements prior to final handover. The role is heavily project and site based, requiring close coordination with consultants, contractors, customers, software engineers, and subsystem vendors throughout deployment and commissioning activities.
Key responsibilities
Develop overall Testing & Commissioning (T&C) strategies for AMR deployments
Ensure all testing activities demonstrate compliance and traceability with contract
Prepare Testing & Commissioning master plans aligned with contract specifications, design specifications, interface control documents and safety standards
Support technical clarifications and consultant reviews during project execution
Define testing methodologies, acceptance criteria, test sequences and equipment required
Execute and supervise testing of individual subsystems including AMR functionality and coordination, infrastructure integration, networking and emergency alarm activation
Coordinate testing schedules with project managers, contractors, consultants, and customers
Preparation of FAT, SAT and IST procedures and scripts
Prepare and maintain detailed testing and commissioning documentation including Method Statements, Checklists and test forms
Generate and maintain a project's Requirement Traceability Matrix
About you
Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics, or Civil Engineering
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in testing and commissioning of robotic, automation or industrial systems
Ability to interpret contracts into testable objectives and cross reference tests with contract clauses
Write comprehensive and detailed Method Statements to fulfil project specific contractual requirements that is technically accurate, logically structured and traceable to project requirements
Write functional design specification documents which detail out system usage, scope, contract compliance and operations
Ability to understand contracts, technical specifications, consultant requirements, shop drawings and interface diagrams
Generate Requirement Traceability Matrices and defect tracking records
Ability to understand and configure operational aspects of AMR and Fleet Management systems
Define clear and testable acceptance criteria for tests
Must be able to travel to project sites when required, including construction sites
