Job description for SOFTWARE ENGINEER at SG Diagnostics

About the role

Software Engineer at SG Diagnostics, a Singapore-based ISO 13485-certified medical device company specialising in the distribution, implementation, and support of point-of-care testing (POCT) solutions and healthcare-related services. You will develop, maintain, and support medical device software design & development, ensuring compliance with ISO 13485, IEC 62304, and internal QMS procedures.

Key responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and support SG Diagnostics medical device software design & development

Implement software changes including usability improvements, new feature/function additions, bug fixing and troubleshooting, and performance optimization

Ensure software changes comply with ISO 13485, IEC 62304, and internal QMS procedures

Maintain software documentation, traceability, testing, and release records

Support software verification, validation, change control and software problem resolution activities

Monitor and maintain system cybersecurity, including vulnerability management, access control, and system integrity

Ensure proper handling, protection, storage, and access control of personal and health-related data in compliance with PDPA requirements

Work with QA, RA, Operations, and external vendors to support compliant software lifecycle management

About you

Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Biomedical Engineering, or related field

Understanding of software testing, debugging, and software change management

Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure software practices

Basic understanding of PDPA requirements and data protection practices

Familiarity with software development, version control, database management, API testing, mobile application development, containerization, cloud deployment, cybersecurity monitoring, and system monitoring tools such as VS Code, Git, pgAdmin, Android Studio, Expo, Postman, Azure DevOps, Docker, Docker Compose, kubectl, Helm, Grafana, and Prometheus is preferred.

Familiarity with ISO 13485 and IEC 62304 is preferred.

Knowledge of cloud systems, AI-assisted software development, or healthcare software systems is an advantage.

1 to 3 years' work experience in regulated industries, healthcare software, or medical device software

Experience handling systems containing personal or health-related data is an advantage.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Detail-oriented with good documentation discipline

Good communication and teamwork skills

Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities independently

Risk-based and quality-focused mindset

Strong sense of responsibility in handling confidential and sensitive data

Willingness to learn and adapt in a regulated environment
