Job description for Senior Technician (AV), Entertainment Technical at Resorts World Sentosa

The Senior Technician plays a key role in supporting technical operations for shows and events. This role assists in equipment setup and handling, operating technical equipment during rehearsals and shows, assisting in maintenance and repair works while adhering to safety policies to deliver memorable entertainment experiences for guests.


Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the supervision of set-up, tear down, transport and storage of technical equipment.

Independently programme and operate one or more technical equipment and systems* during medium-to-large scale technical rehearsals, events and shows.

Independently operate two additional technical equipment and systems during small-to-medium scale technical rehearsals, events and shows.

Maintain and carry out specialist repairs in one or more disciplines of equipment and systems as directed by the Technical Supervisors and Assistant Technical Manager of Entertainment Technical Events.

Ensure all aspects of RWS safety policies are strictly adhered to.

Attend safety training courses and consistently adhere to workplace safety and health (WSH) guidelines.

Generate show reports and assist in other manual handling duties.

*Equipment and systems include: Staging, Lighting, Sound, Audio-visual, Rigging, Show Control and Automation.


Required Qualifications:

Diploma / WSQ Equivalent in Technical Theatre, Theatrical Management, or a related field supplemented by courses in Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

With Diploma / WSQ Equivalent: 2 – 3 years of related industry experience.

Without Diploma / WSQ Equivalent: 4 – 5 years of related industry experience.

Strong knowledge of industry standards and safety protocol.

Experience in entertainment equipment and systems including Staging, Lighting, Sound, Audio-visual, Rigging, Show Control, Special Effect (SFX) and Automation.

Skills / Attributes:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Able to perform shift work, including on weekends and Public Holidays.
