Job description for Senior BIM Modeller at Santarli Construction
1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
BIM Model Authoring & Development
• Develop, construct, and maintain discipline-specific BIM in Revit 2026, adhering strictly to the project's naming conventions, model structuring protocols, and CBEP standards.
• Establish and maintain critical model parameters including model division, shared coordinates, reference levels, grid lines, and revision management with precision and consistency.
• Create and customise design object libraries, components, and elements with correct naming conventions and OmniClass asset classification in accordance with Employer requirements.
• Prepare, update, and deliver information deliverables — including BIM models, Room Layout Sheets (RLS), shop drawings, and as-built models — in conformance with prescribed standards and submission timelines.
Quality Control & Standards Compliance
• Execute BIM Quality Control procedures prior to each information exchange, encompassing visual checks, interference checks, model integrity checks, and authoring software warning reviews.
• Generate Room Layout Sheets (RLS) in strict conformance with project protocols, RDS standards, specifications, and construction documentation.
• Ensure cross-disciplinary model cleanliness and efficiency, minimising redundant or overlapping elements throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordination & Collaborative Delivery
• Collaborate proactively with BIM Coordinators and fellow Model Authors to facilitate integrated, clash-free model federation across all disciplines on Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC Build).
• Participate actively in coordination meetings, ICE sessions, and virtual mock-up reviews, contributing to the identification and resolution of spatial and technical conflicts.
• Implement model updates and revisions as instructed, reflecting the latest approved design changes, RFIs, SO's Instructions, and Requests for Approval of Materials (RAM) expeditiously.
• Support 4D modelling workflows, DFMA detailing, and model-based shop drawing production as required.
CDE Workflow Adherence
• Operate within the Common Data Environment (CDE) governance framework, adhering to prescribed WIP / Shared / Published / Archive workflows on ACC Build.
• Deliver all model files and information assets through designated CDE pathways in a timely and traceable manner, ensuring version control integrity at all times.
• Report progress, flag model issues, and escalate unresolved discrepancies to the designated BIM Coordinator or Digital Specialist promptly.
2. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or an equivalent discipline.
• Completion of formal BIM training or certification (e.g., Autodesk Certified User/Professional – Revit, BIM Specialist Certificate, or equivalent) is advantageous.
3. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on BIM modelling experience as a Model Author on large-scale building construction projects.
• Prior experience on healthcare, institutional, commercial, or industrial projects of equivalent scale and complexity is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrable portfolio of discipline-specific BIM deliverables, including LOD 300–400 construction models, RLS, shop drawings, and as-built submissions.
4. TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
• Proficient in Autodesk Revit 2026 (modelling, coordination, and documentation workflows).
• Proficient in Navisworks for model federation, clash review, and 4D scheduling coordination.
• Working knowledge of visualisation, virtual mock-ups, and construction simulation.
• Competency in Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC Build) for CDE workflows, issue logging, and digital submission management.
• Familiarity with Room Data Management integration and asset data attribution.
• Proficiency in IFC, DWF/DWFx, and NWD/NWC exchange formats.
• Understanding of ISO 19650-2:2018, the Singapore BIM Guide (v2), and project-specific CBEP modelling standards.
5. CORE COMPETENCIES & ATTRIBUTES
• Exemplary precision and diligence in model authoring, parameter management, and geometric accuracy.
• Systematic and methodical approach to quality control, model auditing, and standards compliance.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with the capacity to work productively within a multidisciplinary, multicultural project team.
• Proactive identification and escalation of modelling discrepancies, coordination conflicts, and information gaps to supervisors.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional growth in advanced BIM technologies, IDD use cases, and digital construction methodologies.
