Naval Group designs, builds, integrates, provides in-service support, dismantles and deconstructs submarine and surface ships. As industrial contractor, designer and overall integrator of whole warships and combat systems, it also offers a full range of services to naval bases and shipyards. We are a prime contractor, designer and integrator of naval systems, with over 400 years’ experience in naval shipbuilding. Naval Group Far East is a wholly owned subsidiary of Naval Group SA, headquartered in France.

 

Under the supervision of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) Manager, the Quality Engineer supports key stakeholders including Project Managers, to ensure that all services, incoming materials, components, and products comply with Naval Defence and project-specific requirements prior to acceptance and delivery. The role encompasses quality planning, inspection, testing, compliance verification, supplier quality management, and customer quality assurance to ensure the highest standards of reliability, safety, and performance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1.      Program Quality and Compliance

Adapt and implement the Group Quality Assurance Plan and Conformity Process Plan (CPP) per project requirements.

Manage Non-Conformity (NC) processes, including customer waivers, deviations, and claims.

Monitor and report quality KPIs; identify improvement opportunities and implement mitigation plans.

Support project execution through risk identification, quality monitoring, and issue escalation.

Participate in client reviews, technical meetings, and collaborate cross-functionally to enhance project outcomes.


2.      Quality Assurance Management

 Support development and implementation of BMS procedures aligned with ISO 9001.

Apply quality tools (8D, QRQC, FMECA); lead root cause analysis and CAPA implementation.

Manage Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCARs), validate supplier corrective actions, and act as primary quality interface with suppliers.

Support internal, external, and ISO 9001 certification audits.

Ensure proper control, use, and calibration of measuring and test equipment.

Coordinate customer waiver and deviation requests with internal stakeholders.

Drive continuous improvement across quality systems, processes, and supplier performance.

Perform other quality-related duties as assigned by the QHSE Manager.


Requirements:

 Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline.

Minimum three (03) years of experience in Quality Engineering, preferably in the Defence or Heavy Engineering sectors.  

Well verse in ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, Non-Conformity and CAPA processes, and Root cause analysis tools.

Familiarity with inspection and testing processes as well as experience in supplier quality management and audits.

Posses strong stakeholder management across multicultural teams.

Eligible for governmental security clearance due to the sensitive nature of defence contracts

Confidentiality and Ethics, must adhere to strict confidentiality agreements and ethical standards in handling classified or restricted defence materials.
