Job description for QC Inspector at Ultimate Machining Solutions

Job Description:

  • Verify conformance of complex mechanical fabrication products at incoming, in-process and final inspection stations using various Inspection Measuring and Test Equipments (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, thread gages, dial indicators, plug gages, CMM equipment, height gages, profilometer, visual inspection equipment, etc.)
  • Read and interpret mechanical engineering drawing and associated specifications to perform metrology inspection and ensure product conformance.
  • Able to do CMM programming for machining components inspections as per drawing requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant procedural requirements affecting quality control in accordance with company Quality Policy and procedures.
  • Document part characteristics and measurements for first article and routine inspection requirements.
  • Liaise with customers to ensure that metrology requirements are met in terms of accuracy and compliance to drawing and specification requirements.
  • Ensure that all IMTE used by the Metrology are properly calibrated & taking appropriate action to ensure that they are maintained in good condition.
  • Develop techniques to optimise the use of precision co-ordinate measuring machines effectively.
  • Provide technical assistance on metrology/manufacturing issues to support company manufacturing.
  • Selection and application of Metrology and Inspection techniques to determine reliable product/ process data.
  • Responsible for the integrity of all inspection data generated within the Metrology and to maintain a pro-active approach in carrying out inspections.
  • Effective management of metrology resources to ensure that all jobs are completed in a timely manner adhering to agreed schedules.
  • Facilitate and provide disposition on quarantine parts in MRB and facilitate Non Conformance Review (NCR) with the relevant manufacturing teams.
  • Provision of estimates for new inspection/metrology tasks and able to handle NPI process with pro-active inspection requirements planning.
  • Application of quality tools, Defect Analysis, Process surveillance, 5S, Kaizen, LEAN etc to drive process improvements.
  • Responsible for the safe conduct of all operations in the Metrology Lab.

Requirement:

  • Diploma in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or ITE in relevant expertise with minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in performing metrology inspections using Co-ordinate Measuring Machine and well versed with Conventional inspection/Metrology equipments.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge in precision machining industry environment.
  • Fully conversant with 3D Measurement co-ordinate systems.
  • Strong GD&T knowledge, CMM programming experience is a must.
  • Good interpretation skills on engineering drawings of complex mechanical fabrications.
  • Use of Personal Computer MS Word/Excel/Power Point and Outlook etc is preferred.
