Job description for Project Technician at Solateks
Key Responsibilities
Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of solar systems, electrical vehicle chargers, and energy storage systems, including inspecting, testing, and repairing electrical components, updating software, and ensuring optimal system performance
Monitor and analyze system performance daily and identify issues or inefficiencies, taking necessary rectification actions to optimize system performance
Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth operations and effective communication, providing technical support and guidance to team members as needed
Maintain and update equipment logs, including maintenance schedules, repairs, and replacements, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition and properly documented
Travel to sites for systems installation, maintenance, and repairs
Respond promptly to system failures or issues, ensuring minimal downtime, and develop and implement preventive maintenance plans to optimize system performance
Conduct quality control checks on projects completed by subcontractors, ensuring compliance with company standards and specifications
Coordinate the delivery of equipment and materials to project sites, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
Source and procure necessary equipment and materials from suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely availability
Requirements
Nitec, Higher Nitec, or Diploma in a related field.
Preferably with at least 2 years of experience working with solar systems, electrical vehicle chargers, or energy storage systems.
Must be able to work at heights, including climbing ladders and accessing rooftops.
Those with safety and engineering certifications or qualifications and those with their own transport will have an added advantage.
