Job description for Project Manager at Quan Mei Design & Construction

Job Summary

Lead and coordinate multiple interior fit-out and construction projects by managing planning, client and consultant liaison, subcontractor supervision, inspections, and documentation to ensure timely, compliant, and high-quality project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Implement project planning and provide clear direction to ensure progress aligns with schedules
  • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines and quality standards
  • Collaborate with drafting departments to prepare, submit, and secure approval for shop and as-built drawings
  • Liaise with client representatives to address site matters and participate in site meetings as needed
  • Organize subcontractors to conduct surveys and execute all stages of work efficiently
  • Prepare detailed work schedules, supervise project activities, and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Assist in preparing tender documentation and pricing to support project acquisition
  • Manage final inspections, testing, commissioning, and defect rectifications to ensure project completion
  • Prepare handover documentation including as-built drawings, warranties, and operation & maintenance manuals
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify improvements for future project delivery

Required competencies and certifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Building, Construction Management, or related field
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in interior fit-out, design & build, or construction project management
  • Knowledge of local codes, building regulations, and authority submission processes

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Experience in commercial, retail, F&B, hospitality, or office fit-out projects
  • Familiarity with BCA, SCDF, NEA, PUB, URA requirements
  • WSQ “Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites” certification (formerly CSOC)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Team player with problem-solving and client management skills
