Job Description
The Programme Executive, Competency Development will supportthe development of competency maps, skills pathways, training structures, andon-the-job training requirements under the Skilled Trade Enabling Programme.The role will involve close coordination with SECA, training providers,industry partners, and relevant stakeholders to support the professionalisationof skilled trades.
The candidate will assist in developing structured career and learning pathways, mapping skills requirements to relevant national frameworks, and supporting the onboarding of suitable training providers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Competency Maps and Career Pathways
a) Support in developing competency maps and structured career pathways for skilled trades.
b) Assist in defining job roles, skill requirements, competency levels, and progression pathways.
c) Support documentation of career pathways from entry-level roles to more advanced skilled trade roles.
2. OJT,Skills Logbooks and Mentorship Structures
a) Support the development of on-the-job training requirements, skills logbooks, workplace learning records, and mentorship structures.
b) Assist in documenting learning outcomes, workplace assessment requirements, and progression criteria.
c) Coordinate with industry stakeholders to ensure OJT requirements are practical and implementable at company level.
3) Programme Coordination and Administration
a) Organise meetings, workshops, validation sessions, and working group discussions.
b) Prepare meeting notes, action trackers, progress updates, and reports.
c) Maintain proper records of competency development work, training provider engagement, and curriculum alignment activities.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Education, Training and Adult Education, Human Resource Development, Engineering, Built Environment, Project Management, or related disciplines.
- Good coordination, research, and documentation skills.
- Able to work with technical stakeholders to organise information into competency maps and training pathways.
- Comfortable coordinating with training providers, industry partners, and government agencies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in training development, workforce development, competency mapping, curriculum coordination, or skills framework mapping will be an advantage.
