BEWGI-H2O PTE. LTD. is a venture operating, maintaining, and repairing the second NEWater plant at Changi. We seek passionate, hardworking individuals to join our team and contribute to sustainable water treatment solutions.

Job Summary

You will optimize water treatment processes, analyze water quality, manage risks, and engage stakeholders to ensure efficient, compliant, and innovative plant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Process Optimization: Analyse existing processes to identify areas for improvement, whether it's enhancing efficiency, reducing energy consumption, optimizing chemical usage, or improving overall performance.

Water Quality Analysis: Monitoring and analysing water quality parameters to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and to troubleshoot any issues that arise.

Data Analysis: Analysing data collected from water treatment processes to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.

Treatment Process Selection: Selecting the most appropriate treatment processes and technologies based on the characteristics of the source water and the desired quality of the treated water. This might include processes like coagulation, filtration, disinfection, ion exchange, and membrane processes.

Chemicals Selection and Procurement: Selecting, specifying, and procuring chemicals needed for water treatment plants.

Risk Assessment and Management: Identifying potential risks to water quality and developing strategies to mitigate them, such as implementing backup systems or emergency response plans.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnosing and resolving operational issues in water treatment plants, and developing maintenance schedules to ensure the reliability and longevity of equipment.

Research and Development: Keeping abreast of advancements in water treatment technologies and participating in research projects aimed at improving treatment processes or developing innovative solutions to water-related challenges.

Environmental Impact Assessment: Evaluating the environmental impact of water treatment processes and implementing measures to minimize negative effects on ecosystems and biodiversity.

Training and Education: Providing training to plant operators and other personnel on proper operation and maintenance procedures.

Customer/Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, customers and internal departments, to address concerns, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives while prioritizing customer satisfaction.

  • Any other assignments

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience
  • Diploma holders with 5 to 6 years of relevant experience will also be considered
