Job description for Mechanical Engineer at GRC Construction Pte. Ltd.
Role Overview
Own end-to-end mechanical engineering - covering design, documentation, vendor coordination, and site installation/start-up support.
Key Responsibilities
Basic and detailed design of plant layout, pipe and fittings, pipe supports, piping isonetrics, material selection, equipment skid.
Prepare and check mechanical static and rotating equipment datasheets for RFQs; evaluate vendor proposals for complaince with technical specs, codes, and regulations; lead technical clarifications.
Liaise with OEMs/Vendors to validate technologies and recommend best-fit solutions based on performance, compliance, schedule, and total cost of ownership; drive technical clarifications and value engineering.
Prepare documentation for submission and supporting project team, such as equipment data sheets and drawings, and As Built drawings for submittal to client.
Compile/author ITP/IP and IOM manuals; interface with multidisciplinary teams (C&S, Process, ICA, controls) and construction/site teams.
Produce/peer-review submission documentation; support project FAT/SAT, plant start-up, performance testing, and handover.

Job requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an internationally recognized university.
Proficiency in project desgin software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Naviswork, Staad-Pro, Advance Steel will be advantageous.
Familiar with relevant international standards/codes and onshore/offshore practices.
Minimum 3 years work experience, preferably in the water/wastewater industry, with good knowledge in mechanical design for static and rotating equipment.
