Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mechanical / Electrical (M&E) Engineer to join our team. As an M&E Engineer, you will be responsible for managing, designing, and overseeing the installation of mechanical and electrical systems for our construction projects. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that all M&E building services operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with local regulations.
Responsibilities:
Design, plan, and oversee the installation of building services including HVAC, electrical power, lighting, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Prepare and review M&E shop drawings, schematic diagrams, load calculations, and technical specifications.
Provide technical support to the Quantity Surveying (QS) team by assisting with M&E cost estimations, verifying material quantities, and evaluating variation orders and progress claims.
Coordinate closely with architects, structural engineers, main contractors, and sub-contractors to resolve technical clashes and integration issues on-site.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure all M&E works are executed safely, on schedule, and strictly comply with regulatory standards (e.g., BCA, NEA, SCDF) and project specifications.
Manage and supervise the Testing and Commissioning (T&C) of all mechanical and electrical equipment prior to handover.
Review and evaluate sub-contractor submissions, including material approvals, method statements, and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
Monitor project progress, identify potential technical issues early, and implement effective engineering solutions.
Requirements:
Experience working in Singapore.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience working as an M&E Engineer in the building and construction industry, with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
Strong working knowledge of local Singapore building codes, safety regulations, and statutory requirements (e.g., SCDF, BCA, CP5).
Proficiency in engineering software and tools, such as AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit / Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a strong advantage.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders and site personnel.
Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced construction environment.
