Job Summary
This role is an individual‑contributor Manager position with responsibility for actuarial model implementation, coding, and architecture across multiple reporting bases, including valuation, capital, and ALM.
The role acts as the primary owner of actuarial model codebases, providing leadership on model build, structural design, calculation logic, performance, and maintainability. This role partners closely with actuarial, finance, risk, and regulatory subject‑matter experts to translate business and regulatory requirements into well‑specified, robust, and scalable model implementations.
The role will also support Singapore Branch actuarial activities, including delivery of Singapore regulatory and internal group financial reporting.
Responsibilities
In charge of model implementation, development, coding and maintenance across valuation, reporting, capital and ALM bases
Maintain ownership of the model codebase, including version control, testing, documentation, and change management
Make recommendations on model structure, architecture, calculation logic and programming approaches, within established governance.
Ensure robust model governance, controls and documentation standards for actuarial models in the company
Technical leadership on code quality, model performance, model governance requirements and best practices around model use
Support implementation of new regulatory or reporting requirements (e.g. IFRS/US GAAP) by translating business, actuarial, and regulatory requirements into clear model specifications and robust coded solutions
Support Singapore Branch actuarial functions to deliver Singapore regulatory and internal group financial reports
Perform any projects or work as assigned.
Requirements
Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related quantitative discipline.
Strong formal or demonstrated training in computer programming is preferred.
6-10 years’ relevant experience with proven track records in model implementation, enhancement, or ownership.
Strong programming capability in actuarial or analytical environments (e.g. VBA, Python, actuarial software scripting, SQL).
Hands‑on experience with actuarial model implementation, structure, and calculation logic.
Understanding of valuation / ALM / capital concepts sufficient to implement models correctly.
Able to contribute, with limited supervision, to the implementation of the Company’s model framework, including ALM initiatives.
Good time management and thrives working flexibly under sometimes challenging project based timescales
Able to engage and influence cross functional and external stakeholders and manage a balance between potentially conflicting priorities/considerations.
