Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all production machinery and facility equipment within the soy milk manufacturing plant. This role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and continuous improvement activities to minimize downtime while maintaining food safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventive Maintenance
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance according to the maintenance plan.
Inspect production equipment for wear and potential failures.
Lubricate, adjust, calibrate, and replace components as required.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and service reports.
Equipment Repair
Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and instrumentation faults.
Repair production equipment promptly to minimize downtime.
Respond immediately to machine breakdowns during production.
Coordinate with production personnel to safely restore operations.
Food Safety Responsibilities
Follow GMP, HACCP, and food safety procedures.
Ensure maintenance work does not compromise product safety.
Use food-grade lubricants where required.
Maintain hygienic work practices.
Complete maintenance activities according to sanitation requirements.
Support internal and external food safety audits.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability.
Recommend engineering improvements.
Assist in installation of new machinery.
Participate in root cause analysis of equipment failures.
Support TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) initiatives.
Reduce maintenance costs through preventive measures.
Documentation
Complete maintenance work orders.
Maintain spare parts inventory records.
Update equipment history.
Record downtime accurately.
Assist in developing maintenance SOPs.
Requirements
Education
NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in:
Mechanical Engineering
Mechatronics
Electrical Engineering
Industrial Maintenance
Or equivalent qualification
Experience
2–5 years of maintenance experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
Experience with automated production lines is preferred.
Experience in dairy, beverage, soy milk, or food processing plants is an advantage.
