About the role

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Lorry Driver to join the team at MEC Engineering PTE LTD. This is a full-time position based in Paya Lebar East, East Region. As a Lorry Driver, you will play a crucial role in our logistics operations, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods to our clients. This position is essential to maintaining our reputation for reliability and professional service in the manufacturing, transport and logistics sector.

Key responsibilities

Operate and drive lorries safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated destinations (eg. suppliers)

Provide daily, round-trips transport for construction workers commuting to and from construction sites

Send Vehicle for inspections to ensure the lorry is in good working condition when necessary

Maintain accurate records of delivery times, distances travelled, fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance

Assist with store tasks when not doing delivery eg. checking and arranging goods

Comply with all traffic laws, safety regulations and company policies whilst driving

Perform basic vehicle maintenance and report mechanical issues to the maintenance team

What we're looking for

A valid Lorry driving licence appropriate for the vehicle operated

Minimum of 2-3 years' experience driving lorries or similar heavy vehicles

A clean driving record with no serious traffic violations or disqualifications

Knowledge of traffic laws, road safety regulations and vehicle maintenance

Excellent time management and route planning abilities

Physical fitness and the ability to lift and handle cargo safely

Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Reliability, punctuality and a strong commitment to safety

Familiarity with navigation systems
