Job description for Lift Tester at Argyll Scott

We are representing a reputable organization that is seeking a Lift Tester (Technician) to support testing, adjustment, and commissioning activities for lifts and escalators. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all equipment is installed safely, operates according to specifications, and complies with local regulatory standards before handover for public use.

Key Responsibilities

Perform adjustment, testing, and commissioning works for lifts and escalators

Conduct thorough quality and safety checks to ensure all installed equipment is safe for public operation

Carry out lift and escalator testing in accordance with company procedures, local building codes, and regulatory requirements

Complete and maintain all required testing documentation and reports for submission

Identify, record, and report abnormalities, defects, or damaged parts for rectification and replacement works

Coordinate with internal teams and relevant stakeholders to resolve technical or site-related issues

Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and company safety procedures at all times

Support troubleshooting and commissioning activities during project execution

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

NITEC in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, Building Environment (Vertical Transportation), or equivalent qualification

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience within the engineering, lift, escalator, or construction-related industry preferred

Candidates with experience in lift and escalator testing and commissioning will have an added advantage

Able to perform manual tasks and comfortable working within a construction site environment

Able to work at height and comply with all required PPE and safety requirements

Comfortable handling and carrying heavy test weights and equipment where required

Good teamwork and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively on-site

Mature, responsible, disciplined, and safety-conscious with a strong work ethic
