Lead Cloud Engineer / Solution Architect (AWS Modernisation)

This role is suited to a senior cloud consultant or architect who combines strong technical depth with the ability to advise clients, shape strategy, and lead complex cloud and application modernisation initiatives.
The Role
You’ll work closely with enterprise clients to design and deliver modern cloud architectures and transformation roadmaps across large-scale environments. This role combines hands-on technical capability with strategic consulting, helping organisations modernise applications, improve scalability, reduce risk, and accelerate delivery capability.
You’ll contribute across architecture, migration strategy, DevOps, cloud engineering, and enterprise transformation initiatives while acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders and delivery teams.

• Lead enterprise cloud and application modernisation initiatives across complex environments
• Design scalable AWS-based architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps solutions
• Partner directly with clients on cloud strategy, architecture, migration, and transformation programs

• Advise clients across enterprise architecture, cloud strategy, integration, and modernisation
• Design and implement scalable cloud and DevOps solutions within AWS environments
• Produce target-state architectures, assessments, gap analysis, and technology roadmaps
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code solutions
• Contribute to migration and modernisation planning, proposals, and delivery engagements
• Work closely with engineering and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Support security-focused engineering practices including IAM, cloud security, and governance
• Contribute to delivery leadership, solutioning, and technical advisory engagements

• Strong experience across cloud architecture, software engineering, or modernisation programs
• Strong AWS experience within enterprise production environments
• Experience designing scalable enterprise application architectures
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tooling including Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
• Understanding of cloud security principles and engineering best practices
• Experience engaging directly with stakeholders, clients, and technical teams
• Strong communication and consulting capability
• Experience working within Agile, SAFe, or modern software delivery environments
• 4+ years’ experience across architecture, development, or cloud modernisation

• Experience across multiple cloud platforms including Azure or Google Cloud
• Migration and modernisation project delivery experience
• Experience with application rationalisation or 7R migration assessments
• Legacy-to-modern transformation experience across Java or .NET environments
• AWS certifications highly regarded
