Job Summary:

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for providing critical technical expertise during the project execution, testing, and commissioning phases of automated material handling systems. Working within a specialized team of four, you will deliver both on-site and remote software support, ensuring high system availability for customers. This role is a blend of software development, database management, and IT infrastructure support, requiring a versatile professional who can navigate between programming, network configuration, and hardware maintenance.

Job Description:

Reports to: Senior Customer Service Manager, Team Size: 4, Collaboration: Project and Service Teams

Duties & Key Responsibilities

System Maintenance: Provide comprehensive IT infrastructure support, including Windows OS, hardware, and software maintenance.

Technical Support: Deliver responsive IT hotline assistance and provide both on-site and off-site technical support to customers.

System Integration: Support the execution and commissioning of projects involving automated material handling systems and integrated software (PLC/WMS).

Software & Programming: Utilize programming expertise (C#, C++, Visual Basic, etc.) and database management (Oracle, SQL Server) to maintain and optimize system performance.

Network Management: Configure and manage network routers, switches, and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).

Process Improvement: Identify and recommend process enhancements to improve team functionality and customer service delivery.

Project Deployment: Travel overseas as required to support project execution and system commissioning.

Availability: Provide software support to customers including standby call duties as part of the service commitment.

Requirements:

Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Able to be on standby call and work overtime when required, travel to customer site when assigned.

Practical experience with automated material handling systems and software such as PLC and WMS.

Professional Experience: Proven experience in software applications, specifically Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Material Flow Controls (MFC).

Technical Proficiency:

Strong knowledge of Database programming (PL-SQL and T-SQL) and platforms (Oracle and SQL).

Familiarity with Object-Oriented languages (C#, JavaScript) and Microsoft Visual Studio.

Infrastructure Skills: Solid experience in IT networking, hardware, and database administration.
