Job description for Infrastructure Support Engineer - 1 Year Contract at Lenovo PCCW Solutions
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Support
Monitor system performance, capacity, and error logs; fine-tune configurations as needed.
Troubleshoot incidents, apply hotfixes/patches, and coordinate with vendors/product teams for permanent resolutions.
Create and maintain knowledge base documentation and operational runbooks.
Implement proactive monitoring and alerting to prevent recurrence of issues.
Identify and recommend opportunities for optimization, automation, and performance improvements.
Provide support for hardware and infrastructure issues escalated from the customer team.
Proactively identify and resolve performance issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in building and deploying data center infrastructure, working on Hyper-V, Windows Servers, REHL, CyberArk PAM and Veeam Data Backup products.
Experience with Hyper-V cluster setup, vNIC, and vSwitch configuration.
Experience with performing CIS hardening on Windows 2022 Data Center & REHL, GPO deployment.
Basic knowledge on cloud platforms (AWS).
Basic knowledge on ITIL change and incident management processes.
Good knowledge of networking (IP addressing, routing, VLANs).
Knowledge of BMC Control-M is preferred
Knowledge of implementing firewall rules, support network switches is preferred
Preferred Qualifications (not mandatory):
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
ITIL Foundation v3/v4
