Dover Court International School is a private international school inSingapore with British heritage. It serves nearly 2,000 students aged 3 to 18 on a green 12-acre campus, offering inclusive education tailored to diverse learners through its unique Pathway programme. The Head Nurse is responsible for leading and managing the school’s health services to ensure the physical wellbeing, safety, and holistic care of all students. The Head Nurse will oversee the daily operations of the school medical center, ensure compliance with local healthcare regulations and safeguarding requirements, and work collaboratively with school leadership, staff, parents, and external healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the school health service to ensure the safety, wellbeing and holistic care of all students across the school community.  

Provide clinical leadership and professional oversight to the nursing team, ensuring safe, effective, and consistent standards of care.  

Promote a proactive culture of health, safeguarding, prevention, and student wellbeing through education, early intervention and health promotion initiatives.  

Ensure compliance with all relevant Singapore healthcare regulations, Ministry of Health (MOH), Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) requirements, safeguarding expectations, and school policies and procedures.  

Establish and maintain high standards of clinical governance, medical record keeping, confidentiality, and medication management.  

Develop effective partnerships with parents, teaching staff, safeguarding teams, school leadership and external healthcare providers to support student health and wellbeing.  

Provide professional advice and guidance to staff regarding medical conditions, health risks, emergency care, communicable disease management, and student support needs.  

Maintain a calm, decisive, and professional approach in emergency and high-pressure situations while ensuring student safety remains paramount.  

Lead and continuously improve the school health procedures, systems, reporting, and operational efficiency to enhance service quality and student outcomes.  

Champion safeguarding and child protection practices and ensure all medical concerns are escalated appropriately in line with school protocols.  

Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment within the Medical Centre aligned with Dover Court International School and Nord Anglia Education values. 

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Qualifications/Professional Qualifications in Nursing

Registered with the Singapore Nursing Board

Minimum of 5 years of relevant nursing experience, preferably in paediatrics, school health, or education setting

First Aid certified

Demonstrable strong knowledge of health promotion, safeguarding and child protection practices 

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and other stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds

Ability to maintain accurate medical records and handle confidential information with discretion

Possess the ability to inspire, mentor and guide the nursing team while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
