About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Head of Capability Development (CapDev) leads the strategic planning and execution of the Company’s capability development agenda. This role is critical in ensuring the Company remains mission-ready and at the forefront of emerging media technologies, including Generative AI and advanced production systems.
You will drive the identification, acquisition, and adoption of new capabilities across the organisation, working closely with senior leadership, operational teams, and external partners to translate innovation into practical business impact.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Capability Development
Lead end-to-end capability development—from technology scanning and recommendation to procurement, implementation, training, and adoption across departments
Advise the Executive Director and Heads of Departments on capability investments, particularly in emerging areas such as Generative AI, LLMs, and digital media technologies
Ensure alignment between capability initiatives and organisational business and operational priorities
Planning, Budgeting & Funding
Oversee annual capability planning and budgeting processes, including reporting to various stakeholders.
Ensure optimal utilisation of CapDev resources and funding
Support efforts to secure external funding and partnerships for capability development initiatives
Technology & Industry Foresight
Conduct horizon scanning of emerging developments in the Media & Entertainment landscape, both locally and internationally
Identify opportunities and risks, and recommend strategies to maintain competitive advantage
Partnerships & Ecosystem Development
Build and manage partnerships with industry players, Institutes of Higher Learning, and technology providers
Oversee collaborative projects, including management of MOUs, funding disbursement, and delivery of intended outcomes
Implementation & Adoption
Oversee the deployment and integration of new technologies, systems, and workflows into operational use
Ensure effective onboarding, training, and transition of new capabilities into day-to-day operations across departments
Leadership & Team Development
Provide strong, empathetic leadership to a diverse workforce, including full-time staff and interns
Foster a culture of innovation, learning, and continuous improvement across the organisation
Encourage greater cross department collaboration of new initiatives and oversee adoption of best technology practice and knowledge
Requirements
Degree in Media, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with leadership experience in Media & Entertainment or adjacent industries
Strong understanding of end-to-end media workflows, from ideation to production and delivery
Demonstrated experience in implementing new technologies or capability transformation initiatives
Good awareness of emerging trends in media technology, including AI and digital content production
