Provide engineering solutions to reliability problems affecting SMRT Trains, Locomotives and their associated equipment. Required to independently conduct defect troubleshooting, failure analysis, reliability trending, and develop engineering solutions to the problems identified.

  1. Work in any SMRT Maintenance Depots or facilities
  2. Work in rotating or fixed shifts
  3. Work at heights to perform engineering activities
  4. Work effectively with Operations and Maintenance staff from the Lines as well as other engineering departments to investigate defects. To develop methods, propose modifications and improve maintenance strategies to rectify them.
  5. Analyse and trend condition monitoring and defect data to identify reliability concerns. To develop methods, propose modifications and improve maintenance strategies to overcome them
  6. Draft technical work instructions for preventive and corrective maintenance activities
  7. Identify and implement cost effective technologies to enhance SMRT Trains, Locomotives and Equipment performance
  8. Support LTA and SMRT projects in reviewing project design specifications and ensure their adequacy for the safety, reliability, maintainability and operability
  9. Identify and report any safety concerns at the workplace
  10. Undertake any other tasks or functions that are incidental or ancillary to the performance of the works, as assigned by supervisor.

  1. Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering from a recognised institution
  2. Previous Railway System experience would be advantageous

  1. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Comfortable to work hands-on in a maintenance workshops environment alongside other Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers. Must also be able to work in different shift timings, when required.
  2. Adept with diagnostics and reliability engineering methods such as FMECA, Fault Tree analysis, Weibull analysis and Damage Tolerance Analysis, etc
  3. Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
  4. Effective organizational and planning skills
  5. Fluent in written and oral communication skills in English
