Job description for Electrical Project Manager / Engineer at Gain City Group
Role Overview
We are seeking a driven and technically proficient Electrical Project Manager / Engineer to join our project team. You will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of electrical installations within large-scale construction projects. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in on-site installations, ensuring that all systems—from high-tension distribution to extra-low voltage—are delivered safely, on time, and according to technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities
· Project Execution: Manage and supervise the installation of comprehensive electrical services, including:
· Power Distribution: Main Switchboards (MSB), sub-boards, and electrical risers.
· Building Systems: Internal and external lighting, emergency power systems, and standby generators.
· Safety & Protection: Lightning protection systems and earthing grids.
· ELV Services: Integration of Extra-Low Voltage systems (CCTV, Intercom, Card Access, etc.).
· Technical Coordination: Review shop drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical submittals to ensure compliance with local regulations and project requirements.
· Site Management: Lead on-site teams and subcontractors, ensuring quality control and adherence to the project schedule.
· Stakeholder Liaison: Coordinate with consultants, architects, and main contractors to resolve technical clashes and site issues.
· Procurement & Budgeting: Monitor material usage, manage equipment orders, and assist in progress claims and variations.
Requirements
· Experience: 2–3 years of proven experience in building construction projects specifically focused on electrical services.
· Education: Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
· Technical Skills: Strong understanding of building codes and electrical safety standards.
· Proficiency in reading electrical blueprints and schematics.
· Familiarity with AutoCAD or BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a plus.
· Soft Skills: Excellent leadership abilities, strong problem-solving skills, and the capacity to work under pressure in a fast-paced site environment.
· Certification: Relevant local certifications (e.g., LEW or safety coordination) are highly advantageous.
