About the role

Ceylon Sports Club is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Bartender to join our hospitality team. This is a full-time position that plays a key role in delivering exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for our members and guests. As a Bartender, you will be at the heart of our club's social atmosphere, responsible for crafting quality beverages, upholding our beverage standards, and carrying out management shifts with full accountability for the operation. This role offers the opportunity to showcase your mixology and barista skills, product knowledge, and passion for hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Take orders, prepare, and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to members and their guests, including cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and artisan barista creations.

• Adhere to Club Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on all beverages to maintain the highest quality and consistent product standards.

• Carry out management shifts and take responsibility for the entire beverage operation during those periods.

• Replenish items and conduct regular inventory checks, ensuring all products are within their expiry period.

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the bar area and handle all beverages with clean and hygienic practices.

• Maintain workplace safety and hygiene standards at all times.

• Attend to members' and guests' queries and feedback promptly to ensure a positive experience.

• Provide knowledgeable recommendations to members and guests based on their preferences.

• Process payments accurately and handle cash transactions with integrity.

• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.

• Carry out any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by management.

What we are looking for

• Proven experience as a Bartender in a hospitality or club setting.

• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, and beer varieties, with experience in artisan barista and creative cocktail preparation.

• Excellent mixology and presentation skills with strong attention to detail.

• Passionate about providing efficient, friendly, and consistently high service standards.

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and during peak service times in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with members and guests.

• Proficiency in handling cash transactions.

• Sound knowledge of food safety, responsible alcohol service practices, and hygiene standards.

• Motivated to adapt, embrace cultural diversity, and work effectively in multi-ethnic teams.

• A respectful team player who works cordially with peers and colleagues.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
