Role & Responsibilities:

Maintain vessels in safe and smooth operation, minimize downtime and ensure vessels are in excellent conditions

Monitoring the vessel performance, shipboard maintenance and repair programs

Ensure the inventory level of spares / stores and other consumables onboard vessels are adequate for the smooth operation of the vessels

Plan and ensure classification surveys are conducted in time to maintain the validity of statutory and classification certificates.

Conduct regular vessel inspections

Supervise docking repairs, verify rectification of defects, and ensure the vessel is ready for operation within allocated time

Responsible for all aspect of safety management of assigned vessels, including the crew members, ship conditions and services

Provide technical support in ship-shore emergency, conduct investigation and submit reports

Develop and track budget for the assigned vessels

Approve orders, invoices, and payment within the authorized limits.

Assist in the selection, training and evaluation of engineers and crew members onboard

Ensure the fleet are complying with current and future legislation and standards

Provide full cooperation in the audit process and take prompt corrective actions against any non-conformities

Keep senior management appraised of the operational status of vessels

Any ad-hoc duties as assigned by the superior

Requirements

Diploma & above or Chief Engineer (Unlimited) Class 1

Min. 3 years’ relevant experiences

Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

Possess a good human resources management skill

Good communication, planning, problem solving and decision-making skills

A team player
