Who We Are
Seek Sophie is a Singapore-based online travel platform that connects travellers to inspirational, off-the-beaten-track experiences in Asia (e.g.diving with sharks, hiking into pre-historic rainforests etc). Because of COVID, we had to pivot and are now focused on finding cool and hidden experiences in Singapore that we'd love to do ourselves.
We believe that travel has the power to change the world, and that shouldn’t stop just because of the pandemic. We connect (domestic) travellers directly to local businesses who are making a positive impact in their communities (e.g. by providing employment opportunities to women,working towards zero-plastics etc.). Every dollar spent on Seek Sophie goes directly to local communities and offsets carbon emissions.

We're looking for hardworking, passionate and optimistic people who believe that their work has an impact, and that they can make a change in the world. We want people who love to think out of the box and solve problems, and who are empathetic to the needs of others.
An internship with us isn't like any other. At Seek Sophie, YOU are at the heart of this internship: it is important to us that you learn the skills you think are important. You will be working at a fast-paced start-up environment, and also be given a huge deal of responsibility and flexibility.
Fair warning, this will NOT be a chill internship. We want dedicated people who are passionate about growing a start-up and aren't afraid of pushing boundaries. Challenge accepted?
Requirements
- Optimistic and a desire to make a positive impact in the world :)
- Proficient with design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD etc)
- Comfortable with using data analytics tools (Google Analytics, Hotjar) to develop insights
- Fast learner with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Able to commit 45 hours a week for at least 3 months. $1000 SGD per month (pro-rated pay)
What You’ll Be Doing
You will be given a lot of autonomy in this internship. You’ll play a big role towards growing a start-up and gain a deeper understanding of how an e-commerce site functions. You will also be able to lead the design process and collaborate with team members from all functions.
- Collaborate with product manager and developer to gather and evaluate user requirements
- Illustrate design ideas using storyboards and user flows
- Create UI/UX mock-ups and prototypes using Figma in an agile environment
- Conduct user research to evaluate and reiterate on design
- Identify and troubleshoot UX issues
