Job description for Technical Safety Engineer at ANOTECH Singapore
An exciting opportunity as a Technical Safety Engineer awaits the successful candidate.
Responsibilities:
· Provide safety engineering guidance and support to other disciplines, ensuring assurance of technical safety aspects in design.
· Provide support to oversee that major hazards are identified, adequately assessed, evaluated and managed in accordance with relevant statutory, client and project specific requirements
· Provide support where safety engineering elements are not fully integrated into the design and propose solutions to rectify the situation
· Participate actively in any changes in regulatory requirements and advise relevant departments of requirements to comply
· Support in establishment in specifications, terms of reference and scopes of work for specific safety engineering studies
· Gather necessary information and provide inputs to safety studies
· Provide support to safety philosophies: Passive Fire Protection, Escape Evacuation and Rescue, ESD, Fire & Gas Detection, Fire Fighting
· Provide support functional safety management: FSMP, SRS
· Actively support the development of ESD and F&G Cause & Effect design.
· Support in hazardous area classification studies
· Provide support in procedures, specifications, material requisitions, and technical reports relating to safety engineering
· Coordinate with external stakeholders (e.g. classification society) where required
· Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL/LOPA, risk assessments and other safety engineering reviews and close out the recommendations and actions
· Coordinate formal safety assessments: Dispersion, Fire, Explosion, Dropped object, Ship collision, EER Analyses, QRA etc.
· Provide technical guidance regarding working practice/timescale of work carried out for contracted services
Requirements
· Degree in Chemical/Petroleum Engineering with relevant experience in Process/Technical Safety
· An engineering degree with a Master’s or Diploma in Process Safety and Risk Engineering, and experience in Technical Safety will also be considered
· At least 3 years of relevant working experience
· Possess positive and willing to learn attitude
· Able to multi-task and able to work in a fast-paced environment
· Good analytical and problem-solving skills
· Possess good interpersonal and communication skills
