Description:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems that power core products
- Own production systems: monitor, debug, troubleshoot, and improve reliability and performance
- Collaborate with product, data, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable, high-impact features
- Understand and contribute to data flows, background jobs, and system integrations
- Contribute across the stack when needed (frontend or infrastructure), while maintaining strong backend ownership
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering with strong backend focus
- Strong understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithms
- Proficiency in backend development (Ruby on Rails, Python, Node.js, or Go)
- Solid understanding of database systems (PostgreSQL or similar), including performance and query optimization
- Experience handling production issues and debugging real-world systems
- Familiarity with background job systems and asynchronous processing
- Comfortable working with cloud environments (GCP/AWS), Docker, and basic infrastructure concepts
- Able to contribute beyond backend: either frontend (React/Next.js) or infrastructure
- Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and pragmatic decision-making
