Job description for Social Work Intern at Antica Foundation
The Social Work Intern will support the day-to-day operations of the foundation’s Non-Profit Active Aging Centre and assist in ensuring smooth operations onsite. The intern will help manage the training and integration of care staff, including participants from the Yellow Ribbon Project, while engaging directly with beneficiaries. This role involves on-the-ground interaction with elderly individuals, volunteers and the wider community, including occasional house visits, and requires strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with beneficiaries and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the Active Aging Centre
Support the training, onboarding, and integration of care staff, including participants from the Yellow Ribbon Project
Engage with beneficiaries through regular interactions at the centre, providing support and monitoring wellbeing
Conduct occasional home visits to check on beneficiaries and ensure their needs are being met
Maintain clear and compassionate communication with elderly participants, families, and staff
Assist with administrative tasks, programme documentation, and reporting as needed
Support special projects or initiatives as assigned by the Manager
Skills Required
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Social Work, Psychology, Community Development, or related fields
Individuals who are not in related fields but have a passion for community work are welcome to apply
Comfortable communicating with elderly individuals and people from diverse backgrounds
Strong interpersonal and listening skills, with empathy and patience
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Organised and detail-oriented, with good time management skills
Open to occasional fieldwork or house visits outside the centre
