Job description for Senior Mechanical Technician at Aventis Pharma Manufacturing
JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Mechanical Technician provides technical support primarily in respect to maintenance of process and utilities equipment in addition to operation of utility systems. The incumbent is required to perform preventive and corrective maintenance within standard time, with adequate quality and safety considerations. In addition, the incumbent should be able to identify, prioritize and rectify equipment breakdown in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
- The job holder reports to Mechanical Team Leader and has a dotted line reporting structure with Senior Utilities & Facilities Engineer.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance efficiently and effectively for process and utilities equipment and building facilities.
- Assist in coordinating and ensuring the quality of work carried out by external and internal contractors are as per requirement.
- Maintain and service rotating equipment such as reactor, centrifuge, dryer, pumps and ancillaries
- Maintain and service static equipment such as heat-exchangers, vessel and ancillaries
- Perform shaft laser alignment and use vibration analysis tool to collect data
- Responsible for notifying immediate supervisor in a timely manner on deficiencies or anomalies observed during maintenance
- Responsible to adhere to Quality and HSE requirements. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Diploma/ Higher NITEC/ NITEC in Mechanical or Mechatronics
- Minimum 5 year of hands-on experience in process and utilities equipment and building facilities.
- Familiar with HSE Procedures such as Work at Height, Confined Space, LOTO
- Have good understanding of safe working practices preferably from fine chemical, petroleum or pharmaceutical industries.
- Familiar with LEAN practices such as Breakdown Analysis (BDA), One Point Lesson (OPL) and actively participate to achieve high level of Continuous Improvement (CI)
- Good knowledge of equipment (especially rotating equipment, air-compressors, steam boilers, air-conditioning systems, chillers, etc.) and their principles of operations and maintenance regime.
- Able to read and understand Piping & Instrument Diagram (P&ID)
- Must be conscientious, dedicated and a good team player. Certified Class 2 Boiler Attendance Certification will be advantageous
- Proficiency in Window based applications such as Excel, Power Point and Word is required.
- Familiar in cGMP working environment and requirement.
