Job description for Sample Maker at Heart Troops
Heart Troops is a growing modest fashion brand dedicated to creating thoughtfully crafted based in Jakarta.
We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Sample Maker to support our product development process through garment sample creation, pattern adjustment, and fitting execution. You will collaborate closely with the Technical Development team, Fashion Designers, and tailors to turn design concepts into accurate and production-ready samples. This role is suitable for someone who enjoys technical craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and working in a dynamic fashion SME environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop garment samples based on design briefs, technical directions, and product development timelines.
- Create and adjust garment patterns according to directions from the related teams.
- Execute sample construction and coordinate with the tailor team to ensure accurate and timely sample completion.
- Interpret garment construction details, sewing methods, fabric characteristics, and finishing requirements during sample development.
- Conduct sample revisions and fitting adjustments based on technical feedback and fitting sessions.
- Ensure all samples meet standards in measurements, workmanship, construction quality, and finishing.
- Prepare sample kits, reference materials, and related development assets for vendors or internal use.
- Support sample checking and evaluation processes together with the Technical Development team.
- Identify construction challenges or technical issues during sample development and communicate them promptly to related teams.
- Maintain proper organization of samples, patterns, trims, fabrics, and development materials.
- Ensure sample development timelines are achieved while maintaining quality and accuracy standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of all product development and design-related information.
Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma (SMK)/Diploma Fashion Design/Fashion/related field.
- Prior experience as Sample Maker or related role in fashion industry.
- Understand garment construction, sewing techniques, basic pattern making, and fitting adjustments.
- Able to read design briefs, technical briefs, and tech packs.
- Detail-oriented and able to maintain sample quality and accuracy.
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic SME environment.
- Growth-oriented mindset with willingness to learn, test, and improve continuously. Willingness to handle evolving responsibilities according to business needs is a plus point.
