Job description for Sales Manager at Kharisma Gunamakmur

The Role

This is a people-first sales leadership role based at our head office in Cikarang, West Java.

Your primary responsibility is the daily management, coaching, and performance of our Indonesia field sales team. You will have full visibility of every lead, every meeting, and every opportunity in the pipeline — and you will use that visibility to drive accountability, develop your people, and close more business.

One principle sits at the heart of how we sell:

We are not selling tanks. We are solving water management problems.

The ability to train a team to think and sell this way is what separates a good manager from a great one. You will be expected to instil this philosophy from day one.

This role starts with the existing team. As the business grows, so does your remit.

What You Will Do

Team Management & Daily Accountability

  • Conduct daily structured check-ins with every team member — know where they are, who they are meeting, and what the outcome was and why.
  • Maintain complete pipeline visibility through the CRM at all times
  • Hold the team accountable to activity targets, sales process standards, and CRM discipline — consistently and without exception

Coaching & Field Support

  • Provide hands-on, practical coaching to help salespeople advance deals and close business
  • Join field calls when needed to demonstrate best practices in real client situations
  • Draw on your own sales experience to develop the team's skills and instincts

Training & Development

  • Design and deliver ongoing training on consultative selling, objection handling, solution positioning, and closing techniques
  • Build a team that leads with solving customer problems, not pushing product features

Reporting & Communication

  • Deliver clear weekly and monthly performance reports to the Ownership Group
  • Provide honest, data-backed assessments of pipeline health, team performance, and improvement actions — no sugarcoating
  • Provide weekly one on one feedback reviews with each sales staff member.

What You Need to Bring

Non-negotiable:

  • Minimum 8 years of sales experience, with at least 4–5 years managing a field-based or B2B sales team
  • A proven personal track record of sales achievement — you have sold, not just managed
  • Demonstrated success building and running remote or field-based sales teams and delivering results through accountability and coaching
  • Deep understanding of solution selling and consultative sales methodology — and the ability to train others in it
  • Full professional proficiency in English, spoken and written — required for daily reporting to ownership
  • Strong CRM experience (Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent)

Highly valued:

  • Experience in water treatment, industrial equipment, B2B technical solutions, or related sectors
  • Experience working in a western business environment
