Job description for Purchasing Import Supervisor at PT. HUA YII INDONESIA

  • Source and develop overseas suppliers to obtain competitive pricing, quality products, and reliable delivery.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, lead times, Incoterms, and commercial agreements with international suppliers.
  • Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, from Purchase Order (PO) issuance until goods are received at the warehouse.
  • Coordinate with PPIC, Warehouse, Sales, Logistics, and Finance to ensure material availability and smooth operations.
  • Monitor shipment schedules and follow up with suppliers and freight forwarders to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Ensure purchased goods meet quality specifications, quantity requirements, and company standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent stock shortages or excess inventory.
  • Analyze purchasing costs and identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier negotiation and sourcing strategies.
  • Prepare purchasing reports, supplier performance evaluations, and procurement KPIs.
  • Handle supplier issues related to quality, delivery delays, and commercial matters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Purchasing/Procurement Import, with at least 2 years in a Supervisor role.
  • Proven experience sourcing and managing overseas suppliers (China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Thailand, etc.).
  • Strong negotiation skills with international suppliers.
  • Good understanding of import procedures, Incoterms, customs clearance, and international logistics.
  • Excellent planning and inventory management skills.
  • Strong cost management and cost reduction mindset.
  • Able to communicate fluently in English (spoken and written).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
