Job description for Programme Manager at Padang & Co
What we do
We are the interface between large corporations and tech startups. Corporations come to us with both conventional and non-conventional business problems, and we find game-changing ways to solve these problems through running pilots with innovative startups and scaling those solutions.
To catalyse these collaborations, we curate thematic communities, such as Food and Agriculture, Smart(er) Cities, Health, Sustainability, etc. These change the way we innovate to drive sustainable growth and impact.
What you would do
As a Programme Manager, you will be involved in all programme phases: from engaging business business stakeholders and scoping of their business problems; identifying and evaluating the right startups to solve these problems; facilitating the process of co-creation between the corporation and the startup, and the resulting pilot; to leveraging the success of the pilot to scale that solution.
You will ensure that the programmes/projects under your charge are delivered on time and on budget, and to the high standard that is expected of Padang & Co. In other words, the Programme Manager makes sure that we deliver what we promise.
Your Key Responsibilities
Programme/project design
— Design new innovation programmes/platforms, such as innovation challenges, acceleration programmes, etc.
— Design and facilitate a range of events (virtual, hybrid or physical), such as pitch/demo days, workshops, hackathons, etc.
Programme/project management
— Manage day-to-day relationships with partners/clients, programme/project execution and reporting, and partner/client expectations in terms of delivery
— Conduct research into technologies, startups, trends, or creative solutions to business briefs, and present the research, use cases and possible solutions in a report and/or as a presentation
— Perform key tasks related to administration and finance in a timely and professional manner
New business and ecosystem development
— Contribute thought leadership content, particularly future insights and trends reports, to engage with present and potential partners/clients
— Support new business activities by writing proposals or tender responses, designing programmes, making presentations, etc.
— Cultivate great partnerships with other ecosystem stakeholders, and bring your own ideas and energy in growing these relationships
Attributes we require of you
Ecosystem
— You know startups. You have a good knowledge of the technology startup ecosystem and the roles of its many stakeholders. You should also have an understanding of how startups operate and an ability to assess their potential.
— You get corporations. You have an understanding of how these large organisations work; how to facilitate the discovery and articulation of their problem statements; and where and how they might work with startups.
Professional skills and experience
— You should have a proven track record in management consulting, strategic planning, programme design, project management, proposal writing, and / or report writing, which means you are likely to have at least four years of work experience. Perhaps you have worked for a startup or even started one.
— Strong research, analytical and presentation skills are necessary for you to succeed in this role. Ideally, you also have experience in facilitation.
— Experience or demonstrable interest in areas like Food, Agriculture, Medical/Healthcare, Sustainability, and Travel/Tourism is advantageous.
