Job Description: Painting Supervisor (Project Set-Up & Commissioning)
Job Summary
The Painting Supervisor for Project Set-Up is responsible for leading the installation, calibration, and optimization of the painting production lines for new projects. This role focuses on transitioning from equipment installation to full-scale mass production, ensuring all machinery, workflows, and chemical formulas meet strict international safety standards for children's toys.

In this role as Painting Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the painting operations to ensure compliance with quality standards and production schedules. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing painting strategies, managing the allocation of resources, and ensuring that all safety protocols are adhered to. You will also be involved in the training of new employees, conducting performance evaluations, and maintaining equipment to ensure optimal performance. Your ability to plan and manage projects effectively, along with your skills in equipment maintenance and familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), will be crucial in driving the success of our painting operations.
Key Responsibilities: Project Set-Up Phase
1. Machine Installation & Technical Commissioning:
- Oversee the physical installation of spray booths, conveyor systems, curing ovens, and air compressor units.
- Perform initial calibration of painting equipment, including air pressure settings, fluid nozzle adjustments, and oven temperature mapping.
- Ensure the cleanroom or spray environment is free from dust and contaminants that could compromise the aesthetic finish of the toys.
2. Process Development & SOP Creation:
- Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the entire painting workflow (Pre-treatment, Painting, Drying, and Quality Inspection).
- Design and test customized jigs and fixtures to maximize the number of parts painted per cycle while maintaining uniform coverage.
- Conduct "Trial Runs" to determine the most efficient cycle times and optimize material consumption (reducing overspray).
3. Material Validation & Toy Safety Compliance:
- Collaborate with the R&D team to verify that all paint batches are Non-Toxic, Lead-Free, and Phthalate-free, complying with standards such as EN71, ASTM F963, or ISO 8124.
- Perform "First Article Inspections" (FAI) to validate color matching, paint adhesion (Cross-hatch tests), and durability against saliva and friction.
4. Team Training & Workspace Organization:
- Implement the workshop layout based on 5S principles to ensure a smooth flow from the molding department to the painting and assembly lines.
- Conduct specialized training for operators on new machinery, focusing on precision, waste reduction, and the correct use of chemical respirators.
